Common Ancestor or Common Designer? Your Answer Results From Your Religious Views

Is life the product of microbes to man evolution through completely natural processes involving random mutations building complex genetic programming over millions of years or is life the product of a super-intelligent supernatural designer? Your belief about this question will dictate how you interpret facts, even if that interpretation goes against those facts.
The article linked to the picture below is one of the best examples of this phenomenon. The article states, "Humans have a lot in common with the humble sea sponge, according to research that changes the way we think about animal evolution. A research team report that a collaborative study found sponges use a complex gene regulation toolkit similar to much more complex organisms such as humans". The article goes on to state, "The research implies this complex mechanism was present at the evolutionary dawn of multicellular animals and across animal species as far apart as sponges and humans".
The article this goes on to highlight a changing view among evolutionists about the diversity of life. It states, "Until very recently we thought increasing complexity in the animal kingdom was due to an ever-increasing number of genes that encode information about animal development and growth."However, the genomics explosion of the last decade taught us most animals have a similar number of genes encoded in their DNA."The alternative, and today the prevailing explanation, is that gene regulation is responsible for the evolution of animal diversity".
The evidence and fact presented in this article is that complexity has existed in life from the very beginning. This is essentially the only fact in the article.
One belief system would state that this complexity was present in the first life and so all life that evolved from it would also be similar in terms of genes and genetic programming. But this poses a very big problem for the evolutionist. Mainly, how did all this complex genetic programming come to be if it was there from the beginning? There explanation would involve millions of years of random mutations, but observable fact shows that mutations destroy genetic information, not create it or make it better. In the end, this is a blind faith.
Another believe system would say that a super intelligent designer programmed similar functionality in all of His designs because those functions were needed for life on Earth. Just like computer programmers today code functions and procedures that can be copied and pasted in different programs because different programs still require some of the same capabilities. Most organisms have to breathe, eat, and have the same cellular processes. An intelligent designer would not reinvent the wheel for each of these, they would use an already created code.
