It Is Getting Easier and Easier to Trust the Old Ages of People in the Bible!

It seems as though every week there is a new scientific article that demonstrates that a well running genetic code can lead to very long life spans. In fact, if we had not accumulated so many mutations over the generations it is looking more and more like much longer life spans would certainly be expected.
The below article is just another in this line of discovery. This article discusses the benefits of the enzyme telomerase. The article discussed research done on those who have mutations in the gene that codes for telomerase resulting is diseases such as aplastic anemia and pulmonary fibrosis.
The article states, "One of the processes associated with aging is progressive shortening of telomeres, DNA-protecting structures at the ends of chromosomes, like the plastic tips on shoelaces, each time a cell divides, its telomeres get shorter. Eventually, the cell can't replicate anymore and dies or becomes senescent. However, telomerase can keep the length of telomeres intact, even after cell division." The article goes on to say, "Some cells avoid aging by using telomerase to lengthen their telomeres through the addition of DNA sequences, thereby maintaining their capacity to multiply and "stay young"".
So what we have here is observable science that shows a gene can create telomerase to keep a cells telomeres from deteriorating. The length of these telomeres is a critical factor in aging.
If mutations degrade the genome and they have been building over time, a valid conclusion would be that we had less mutations in the past. In other words, we had a better genome. We would then expect the genes within that genome to perform better. The genome, performing as God originally intended before mutations set in due to our rejection of God, would have allowed for much longer life spans just as the Bible has documented.
