I can't believe this article was posted on a science website. The Religion of Evolution is on full display. We find an astro-biologist who is making statements with absolutely no scientific evidence to support them. It should be obvious he is making faith based claims. Why doesn't he back his statements up with facts? Because there are no facts or observable science to back up his claims.
The article states, "Given that we have multiple examples of these key evolutionary adaptions occurring along the path from the simplest organism to humans, we must accept that they are not extremely improbable, but that it 'only' takes a long time and the proper conditions for them to arise". Can you see the religious belief on full display? He starts with the assumption that evolution is true and so based on that he makes his conclusion. He doesn't allow himself to even consider the evidence.
Belief that God created the universe and life initially perfect is a religious belief. Belief that life arose from nothing and grew complex over billions of years through mutations is also a religious belief.
Tour the links in the "More" section of this site to learn more about why evolution is not true and the observable science points towards a perfect original creation by God.
