The below linked article is promoting a new book that charts human evolution - past, present and future.
As stated in the article, "Among the future directions highlighted by the book is the wide range of mind and body enhancements potentially available to humans -- from cybernetic implants that could connect our brains directly to computers, to nanotechnology, and a variety of medical prosthetics".
While I haven't read the book, I'm betting it discusses our evolution from simple cell to man through faith in random mutations. The book then likely goes on to discuss how emerging technology will be incorporated into humans in the future. The interesting thing of course is that this technology and incorporation of it into our bodies will require very intelligent humans to develop, implement and maintain it. This is in stark contrast to evolution, which is based on random chance and luck of chemicals bumping into each other. Quite a big change in the source of what drives evolution.
Fact is our biology is more complex than any cybernetic technology we will invent and the article goes on to highlight this fact by saying, "the authors caution that such enhancements must not ignore humans' highly complex biology". If the cybernetic technology needs an intelligent designer, then wouldn't the biological systems that are far more advanced need one too?
