It is generally accepted that all dog breeds came from the grey wolf. The article linked to the picture below is great science! The research "now includes 1346 dogs representing 161 breeds, or not quite half of all kinds of dogs. By comparing the differences at 150,000 spots on each dog's genome, they built a family tree". The article states, "today dogs come in 350 or so breeds, each with specific traits and behaviors. Many arose in the past 200 years".
Very Fast "Evolution"
Based on observable science, we should know that change in a kind can occur very rapidly. As noted in the article, 200 different dog breeds arose in the past 200 years! Much is this change is a result of artificial selection by dog breeders, but the same rapid change can be seen in other kinds based on the environment. Based on this observed science, there has been plenty of time for the animals that came off the ark to spread out and vary into all the different species we know today.
New Traits YES, New Genetic Programming, NO!
The key take away is that the original wolf kind that all of these breeds descended from was genetically rich, meaning that the programming allowed for many different kinds of traits. Breeders effectively stripped away unwanted genetic material from the genome to get a desired trait. Then certain breeds were used to pass on traits to new breeds. For example, the article states, "As one of the earliest small dogs, the pug, which hailed from China, was used in Europe from the 1500s onward to shrink other breeds. Thus, pug DNA is part of many other toy and small dog genomes". So no new genetic programming has ever been created! The creation of new genetic programming is what is required to take dinosaurs to birds, apes to man, etc.. In other words, microbes to man evolution has no observable science supporting it because the creation of new genetic programming has ever been observed.
The true nature of mutations
You will notice this article does not mention any new genetic information created by mutations, but it does highlight some diseases they create. The article states, "before vets couldn't really understand why a genetic disease called collie eye anomaly, which can distort different parts of the eye, and shows up in collies, border collies, and Australian shepherds, also occurs in Nova Scotia duck tolling retrievers. But the genetic analysis shows that this retriever has either collie or Australian shepherd ancestors that may have passed on the defective gene. Mixing has resulted in the sharing of specific genomic regions harboring mutations which cause disease in very different breeds". The true nature of mutations, as supported through observation, is that they degrade and destroy genetic programming. Mutations do no create genetic programming.
You can go from the grey wolf to the pug because you are going from high quality genetic programming to low quality genetic programming. In other words, you are going from greater to lessor. You cannot go from a pug back up to a grey wolf! The pugs genetics have been stripped down and degraded. In order to go back to the grey wolf, you need to create genetic programming that is not there and this programming can only come from an intelligent source.
