Watch the Evolution of Bacteria - Is Seeing Believing?
June 21, 2017
The video linked below is a really cool experiment if you ask me. The only drawback is that is can be used to fool people who don't understand what they are seeing. The experiment has bands of antibiotic that becomes more and more powerful as you go towards the center. Bacteria are placed at the edges and then you see them "evolve" in real-time. You can see that the bacteria obtain a mutation that allows them to become resistant to the antibiotic. This is a beneficial mutation for them because it creates a beneficial trait for the given environment - resistance to the antibiotic. This can be used to trick people into believing that mutations create a better and more complex organism. People see this and jump to the conclusion that mutations can create vast amounts of complex genetic programming and can explain how humans evolved from a simple form of life millions of years ago. This is a false belief.
What they do not tell you is no new genetic information is being created in this experiment nor have mutations ever been observed to create any new genetic information. Existing information is only being changed and those changes are actually degrading the bacteria. Yes, they are able to resist the antibiotic, but this is typically because the cell has something broken by the mutation, such as a cellular port that would block the antibiotic from entering the cell. What they also do not tell you is, if you take these mutated bacteria and introduce them back into the real world, they will typically die off very quickly. They can resist the antibiotic, but because the mutation has degraded their overall ability to live and survive, they are no longer able to deal with life outside of the petri dish. This is why bacteria in hospitals are often called "Super Bugs", because they have gotten a mutation that allows them to resist antibiotics and so they are present in hospitals, but not in the outside environment.
Here we see limited change in action, we do not see microbes to man evolution and the creation of new genetic information. So if mutations do not create the new genetic information that would be required to evolve a microbe to a man, then where did all the very complex genetic information and programming come from? It must have come from a super intelligent source since science is discovering that the genome and biology is far more sophisticated than anything man has ever created. What is that source? God is that source!
