This is true if you mean adaptation or micro evolution. But it is most certainly not macro evolution because that would require the addition of new functional genetic information. All we see with the Tasmanian Devil is the changing of existing genetic information.
The article states, "In just 20 years, the endangered animal has lost 80% of its population to a contagious condition called devil facial tumor disease (DFTD)." The article goes on to say, "They found that the modern survivors had changes in seven genes, five of which are related to cancer or immune function in other mammals, including humans".
So what we have are changes in existing genetic information. If they had reported that a new gene had been created that produced a new enzyme that counter acted the cancer, now that would have been macro evolution, but yet again we do not see this. So once again we just have adaptation.
