Fascinating article and research linked below. First, how anyone could read about the processes and machines in the article below and believe it came about by random chance is in ABSOLUTE DENIAL!! I mean, "Come On Man!".
The research discusses the aging of cells and the replication process. The first point is the complexity as I mentioned above, but what struck me the most was the quote from the researcher at the end of this article. The researcher states, "Aging is a disease, not a natural process." How profound is this statement! I would venture to say he would agree that aging is a genetic disease. How is this genetic disease caused? While not explicitly stated, it would be because the machinery of the cell breaks down and this is likely caused by mutations. This is also further proof of how a better genome can lead to much longer lifespans. The old ages of those in Genesis of The Bible shows their genomes were superior to ours. In the past, humans had fewer mutations and a better performing genome.
It is great to know that God's plan was for eternal life. As this article states, aging (and eventual death) is not a natural process that God originally designed. In fact, aging and death is a disease that was brought on by sin against God. This article gave me a new perspective on Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord'. In other words, the effect of sin is mutations that lead to the genetic disease of aging and death, but the Lord provided a way for us to be reconciled and return to his original design.
