Have you every used the expression, "If it is so easy, then why don't you do it!"? The below linked article is entitled "It's Surprisingly Easy To Brew The Building Blocks of Life In A Puddle". You can't help but think the point of this article and headline is to convey the idea that life spontaneously coming out of a mud puddle is actually a very feasible and simple thing to do. And so I would like to say to this researcher, "If it is so easy, then why don't you do it!". At the end of this video you are left with more religious beliefs than actual science. Pages in a book are not information, it is the medium that holds the information. An author is required to put the information on the pages. Here we find the researcher just trying to create the pages of the genetic book, not the information. RNA is the medium that information is written on. The key phrase is that the chemist took "2 common chemicals" and "was able to create something that looks a lot like RNA" (code for it looks nothing like RNA, but that wouldn't sound write for this video). RNA uses 4 chemicals to encode information, so using only 2 is much less complete. They don't mention that of course. Then the video goes on to say how it "wasn't all that hard". Natural polymers like this form all the time - such a Keratin, Rubber, Cellulose, so it shouldn't be that hard.
The bad news for evolutionists is they haven't even gotten to the hard part of life. They are still just trying to create a medium. Below are the three steps to creating life through evolution:
1. Create a medium that can store information.
2. Write the information on that medium by random processes.
3. Create the molecular machinery that can read, repair, and execute the instructions on the medium.
Videos and articles like these are really religious propaganda. Create a mud puddle with the 3 items mentioned above and I will be impressed and be a believer of evolution.
